In this work, a new approach, based on HyperSpectral Imaging (HSI), was developed in order to set up an on-line efficient, fast, suitable and low cost method finalized to detect and characterize different materials present in a Demolition Waste (DW) flow stream resulting from an innovative recycling process. The implemented HSI-based approach is able to recognize and characterize recycled aggregates for quality control. The presence of contaminants (such as plastic, brick, gypsum, wood and foam), that can decrease the quality of recycled aggregates, was detected and their morphological and morphometrical parameters were also measured. The aggregates, in fact, should have specific physical-mechanical characteristics according to market requirements in order to be reused for high-value “green concrete” production.

Abstract
The aggregates, in fact, should have specific physical-mechanical characteristics according to market requirements in order to be reused for high-value “green concrete” production.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
