Recent technological developments open up possibilities to “construct” “augmented” cities that can compete even with reality. The total immersion head mounted devices allow us to operate in the world of simulation as if we moved around in the real world. In this way they seem to anticipate “intelligent” scenarios which can represent the city in its nascent state before it is designed. Thus they help create new scenarios for materials of technical and cultural nature that represent the final unexplored frontier.
