The category of 'submerged literature' - developed for ancient greek texts- fits to some areas of modern philology. Especially the case of the brothers Grimm 'submerged' fairy tales of their first 1812 edition invites to useful considerations from the point of view of the history of culture and translation, but also of didactics of literature and translation itself. Translation and recovery of missing Tales enhances the discourse on 'choice' of texts to be delivered to tradition and canon.

Abstract
The category of 'submerged literature' - developed for ancient greek texts- fits to some areas of modern philology. Especially the case of the brothers Grimm 'submerged' fairy tales of their first 1812 edition invites to useful considerations from the point of view of the history of culture and translation, but also of didactics of literature and translation itself. Translation and recovery of missing Tales enhances the discourse on 'choice' of texts to be delivered to tradition and canon.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
