The plateau of Piazza d’Armi, directly south of the major one of Veii, to which it was connectedduring its development, was frequented permanently from the 9th to the first half of the 5th century BC. Excavations carried on by the University “Sapienza” of Rome, brought to lightnew data for its knowledge. The settlement seems to be organized from early stages around a male inhumation grave, realized inside an oval hut, dated to First Iron Age and built in the middle of the plateau. The same area was later occupied by public or sacred buildings. Until the second half of the 8th century BC, this hut was respected and surrounded by evidences referred to ritual practices and almost by another male inhumation grave. The rest of the plateau was occupied by scattered group of huts. During the half of the 7th century BC,the settlement was involved in a radical transformation, with the development of a regular urban plan, based on orthogonal roadways which delimited residential and public buildi
