Many research data, conducted on English speaking populations, show that interventions focused on meta-linguistic skills are effective in enhancing reading abilities in young dyslexic children. Authors present initial data on the efficacy of a group intervention aimed to the reduction of meta-phonologic deficit in 45 third grade dyslexic children. Results show that this kind of intervention obtains a significant gain in reading abilities; this gain is superior to spontaneous increasing measured on the same sample and to the expectations desumed from literature on the natural history of Italian dyslexic reading ability.

Abstract
Many research data, conducted on English speaking populations, show that interventions focused on meta-linguistic skills are effective in enhancing reading abilities in young dyslexic children. Authors present initial data on the efficacy of a group intervention aimed to the reduction of meta-phonologic deficit in 45 third grade dyslexic children. Results show that this kind of intervention obtains a significant gain in reading abilities; this gain is superior to spontaneous increasing measured on the same sample and to the expectations desumed from literature on the natural history of Italian dyslexic reading ability.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
