While Europe is broadly discussing on the soil protection and the land management, the progressive land take is leading to a new conflict between a sustainable use of land and the consumption of this non-renewable resource. Though land planning is devoted to manage the social and political conflicts on land use, it does not seem able to effectively address social, economic and financial concerns of land take. In the same time, natural system dynamics and different spatial and temporal patterns of land take impacts must be considered. An analysis of causes, effects, and social issues of this specific conflict could help land-take prevention policies and should therefore enter into the planning processes.

Abstract
While Europe is broadly discussing on the soil protection and the land management, the progressive land take is leading to a new conflict between a sustainable use of land and the consumption of this non-renewable resource. Though land planning is devoted to manage the social and political conflicts on land use, it does not seem able to effectively address social, economic and financial concerns of land take. In the same time, natural system dynamics and different spatial and temporal patterns of land take impacts must be considered. An analysis of causes, effects, and social issues of this specific conflict could help land-take prevention policies and should therefore enter into the planning processes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
