The article is focused on the perception of visual arts in Joseph Brodsky’s poetry. A lot of his texts are in strict contact with paintings of different historical periods, sometimes highlighted by the author, but in the most part of cases it’s not easy to identify them. The whole series of Christmas poems takes its origin from the representation of Adoration of the Magi. The inspiration sources vary from Early Italian Renaissance and Northern Age of Gold to the modern genius like Giorgio De Chirico. This method enriches the text, creates an additional emotional background and gives us some more information about the author and his worldview.

Abstract
The article is focused on the perception of visual arts in Joseph Brodsky’s poetry. A lot of his texts are in strict contact with paintings of different historical periods, sometimes highlighted by the author, but in the most part of cases it’s not easy to identify them. The whole series of Christmas poems takes its origin from the representation of Adoration of the Magi. The inspiration sources vary from Early Italian Renaissance and Northern Age of Gold to the modern genius like Giorgio De Chirico. This method enriches the text, creates an additional emotional background and gives us some more information about the author and his worldview.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
