The research explores issues and potentialities related to the use of "remotely piloted aircraft" (RPA \ UAVs), in small size, to capture high-quality images of architectural details that have limited accessibility. In particular we experienced the quality of images produced by micro-drones’ sensors and the precision of digital processing useful for image-based modeling. The experiment shows singularity characteristics of the application and anticipates the development of a RPA prototype, dedicated to this service.
