Existing 1D and 2D models are used to simulate GPR field surveys conducted in a stratified limestone terrain. The 1D model gave good agreement in a simple layered section, accounting for multiple reflections, velocity variations and attenuation. The 2D F-K model used gave a good representation of the patterns observed due to edge diffraction from a fracture in limestone, although the model could not account for the attenuation caused by irregular blocks filling the fracture.

Abstract
Existing 1D and 2D models are used to simulate GPR field surveys conducted in a stratified limestone terrain. The 1D model gave good agreement in a simple layered section, accounting for multiple reflections, velocity variations and attenuation. The 2D F-K model used gave a good representation of the patterns observed due to edge diffraction from a fracture in limestone, although the model could not account for the attenuation caused by irregular blocks filling the fracture.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
