Past researches have demonstrate the proactive role of newcomers in the organizational socialization. It was observed in particular the effect of the work self-efficacy (Bandura, 1986) on outcomes of the organizational socialization. The aim of the present study is to investigate the role of social self-efficacy, identification and information seeking in predicting outcomes of organizational socialization. The sample was comprised of 80 participants recruited in a military institute of Rome. Results show that the social self-efficacy predicts those dimensions of organizational socialization more related to interpersonal relations, like the co-worker support dimension. Also the identification with the organization predicts dimensions mostly related with performance. Finally no significant effect was found for information seeking strategies.
