At the beginning of the Roman College Museum there is the scientific and experimental collection of the Jesuit Athanasius Kircher (1602-1680). Through the testamentary legacy of Alfonso Donnino (1651) the Museum was enriched of a collection of antiquities, portraits, rare and precious objects. Through the Kircher’s correspondence, the notarial documentation and the Filippo Bonanni’s Notizie circa la Galleria del Collegio Romano (1716), the paper presents the history and the fortune of the famous museum from 1651 to the first half of the XVIIIth century

Gli interessi scientifici e sperimentali del gesuita Athanasius Kircher (1602-1680) furono all’origine del Museo del Collegio Romano. Con il lascito testamentario di Alfonso Donnino (1651) il Museo venne arricchito di una collezione di antichità, quadri, oggetti rari e preziosi. Attraverso la corrispondenza di Kircher, la documentazione notarile e le Notizie circa la Galleria del Collegio Romano di Filippo Bonanni (1716) il saggio ricostruisce le vicende della celebre istituzione dal 1651 alla prima metà del sec. XVIII
