Communication: Nanodispersions of metallic or ceramic phases in diamond matrices are deposited by the novel CVD process described here. The diamond-based deposits are produced by activation of a hydrocarbon/hydrogen mixture with a hot filament in a reactor fitted with a powder spraying system. The Figure shows randomly distributed large grains covered by a homogeneous fine-grained film.
