The research develops a generalised approach for short and long distance traffic terminals. The work is focused on the definition of performances to be achieved by the terminals for the fulfilment of demand targets in identified sensible market segments on the basis of selected key performance indicators. The introduction of innovative concepts is modelled, evaluated and compared from technical point of view and performances fulfilment. The work is focused on the assessment of effects on terminal performances and the functional development of future terminals based on novel technologies and operational measures integrated in scenarios including costs saving both in terminals (e.g. by extended automation) and along the whole logistic chains (e.g. by shorter turn-around or faster transhipment). The general methodological scheme is exemplified in relevant case studies.

Abstract
The general methodological scheme is exemplified in relevant case studies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
