POLITICHE INTEGRATE DI SICUREZZA: L’INSICUREZZA COME MISERIA URBANA

The integration of purposes, users, stakeholders and local actors in general represents the focal issue in the debate on improving urban safety for the citizenship in Italy. This paper deals with urban safety in Rome, focused on opinions and behaviours of users and especially of local agents: actors that produce safety in different ways (social workers, volunteers, local and national police agents). This is analysed by a case study on a suburb of Rome with deep problems of misery, decay and incivilities, stressing these specific aspects: Users and agents opinions of priorities about urban safety policies;.Assessment of existing policies in contrasting or preventing micro-criminality and vandalism; The (lack of) integration between different local agents (local and national police agents, local politicians, public servants and social workers, third sector, citizens)
