A numerical model is developed in order to simulate the motion of a three DOFs harmonic oscillator under stick-slip conditions: the second mass, driven by a belt, is connected to the first and the third ones via linear springs. The friction force on the second mass (between the belt and the mass) causes the system motion. The study of the system response is performed taking into account the variation of the belt velocity because it influences directly the friction force. Some aspects of the response are investigated to understand the influence of the nonlinearity.

Abstract
A numerical model is developed in order to simulate the motion of a three DOFs harmonic oscillator under stick-slip conditions: the second mass, driven by a belt, is connected to the first and the third ones via linear springs. The friction force on the second mass (between the belt and the mass) causes the system motion. The study of the system response is performed taking into account the variation of the belt velocity because it influences directly the friction force. Some aspects of the response are investigated to understand the influence of the nonlinearity.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
