Mural paintings found in the site of Uch Kulakh (Bukhara, Uzbekistan) by the Uzbek-Italian Archaeological Mission. The iconographic analysis of the subject (a harnessed horse; a combat scene; a camel fight) highlights links with early Sasanian rock reliefs as well as with the art of the Eurasian steppes. The murals of Uch Kulakh most probably date from the 4th-5th centuries, thus providing the earliest evidence of Sogdian painting.

The iconographic analysis of the subject (a harnessed horse; a combat scene; a camel fight) highlights links with early Sasanian rock reliefs as well as with the art of the Eurasian steppes.
