In this paper we find a new asymptotic expansion valid in enzymatic reactions where the total amount of enzyme exceeds greatly the total amount of substrate. In such case it is well known that the Michelis-Menten approximation is no longer valid; therefore our asymptotic expansion is a new tool to approximate in a closed form the concentrations of the reactants in presence of an enzyme excess. © 2010 American Institute of Physics.

Abstract
In this paper we find a new asymptotic expansion valid in enzymatic reactions where the total amount of enzyme exceeds greatly the total amount of substrate. In such case it is well known that the Michelis-Menten approximation is no longer valid; therefore our asymptotic expansion is a new tool to approximate in a closed form the concentrations of the reactants in presence of an enzyme excess. © 2010 American Institute of Physics.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
