This paper reviews some of the literature connected with ethnic capital. Emphasis will be on its theoretical perspective, its definition, its benefits and also its limits. Ethnic capital can be defined as a particular form of human capital which produces a new paradox in the western societies when it comes to integration among people. Ethnic capital posits that it is essential as it overcomes deficiencies in other forms of capital. The aim of this article is to underline the difference between ethnicity and ethnic capital, while trying to understand under what circumstances this condition of belonging to a group can be an opportunity.
