The use of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) has improved the potentiality of duplex ultrasound. This study focuses on the actual roleof CEUS compared with DUS in the assessement of carotid plaque morphology and for the detection of endoleaks after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) CEUS should reserved to confirm the instability of those caroti plaques to assess the indication for their treatment in the asymptomatic patients As regards post-EVAR surveillance, CEUS is indicated to evaluate target vessel patency of those endoleaks detected with DUS and when DUS shows a significat aneurysm sac expansion without endoleak detection

Abstract
The use of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) has improved the potentiality of duplex ultrasound. This study focuses on the actual roleof CEUS compared with DUS in the assessement of carotid plaque morphology and for the detection of endoleaks after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) CEUS should reserved to confirm the instability of those caroti plaques to assess the indication for their treatment in the asymptomatic patients As regards post-EVAR surveillance, CEUS is indicated to evaluate target vessel patency of those endoleaks detected with DUS and when DUS shows a significat aneurysm sac expansion without endoleak detectionFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
