Atual, Futuro Ideal e Família: Zeitgeist e representações sociais

A pilot study exploring Social Representations of current, ideal and imagined future family has been conducted among 138 Italian university students aged 20 to 29 years to find out how the ideal model of family and personal expectations about the future affect the transition to adulthood. The research aims to investigate imaginary and normative dimensions including graphical projective and verbal instruments: hand-drawings; associative network; questionnaire. Coherently with the guiding hypothesis, the results show a stronger homogeneity in the representation of the ideal family due to the well-established normative dimension in the traditional Italian culture. On the contrary, the coexistence of new family relations in the representation of the current and imagined future family reflects the transformation of the socio-economic context, family structure, gender roles and inter-generational relationships occurred in Italy in the last 50 years. In this article, a selection of results relating to the verbal dimension is presented.

Um estudo piloto explorando Representações Sociais de família atual, família ideal e família futura imaginada foi conduzido com 138 estudantes universitários italianos com idades de 20 a 29 anos para compreender como o modelo ideal de família e expectativas pessoais sobre o futuro afetam a transição para a vida adulta. A pesquisa visa investigar dimensões imaginárias e normativas incluindo instrumentos projetivo-gráficos e verbais: desenhos à mão; redes associativas e questionários. Coerentemente com a hipótese guia, os resultados mostram maior homogeneidade na representação da família ideal devido à dimensão normativa bem estabelecida na cultura tradicional italiana. A coexistência de novas relações familiares na representação da família atual e futura imaginada, porém, reflete a transformação do contexto socioeconômico, da estrutura familiar, dos papeis de gênero e das relações intergeneracionais que ocorreram na Itália nos últimos 50 anos. Neste artigo é apresentada uma seleção de resultados relacionados à dimensão verbal.
