This paper analyses the Hellenistic debate on Aristophanes Frogs 1028 f., a passage which mentions the Persians of Aeschylus. From the opinions of Hellenistic philologists, presented in the scholia to the passage, it is possible to recover some evidence regarding the text of the line as it circulated in antiquity.
