The high number of handbooks, anthologies and spelling books edited in the Second Half of the Nineteenth Century constitute an important source to study the teaching practices and the features of Italian taught in school. In this regard spelling books provide many useful indications: conceived to teach reading and writing and to reinforce national identity of children, these little volumes try to propose a language that, even though he refers largely to the Manzonian model, shows a certain degree of variation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
