The study reports data obtained by the palynological analyses of samples taken from the Terramara of Baggiovara (17° - 16° century BC), located in the municipality of Modena. Pollen allow the plant landscape that existed before, during and after the terramara to be reconstructed. Data suggest that the economy of the site was mainly based an animal breeding rather than on crop cultivation. In particular, the landscape was open and forest cover was low. Pollen spectra show a strong presence of pastoral indicatorr, cerealia and other synathropic indicators.

Abstract
The study reports data obtained by the palynological analyses of samples taken from the Terramara of Baggiovara (17° - 16° century BC), located in the municipality of Modena. Pollen allow the plant landscape that existed before, during and after the terramara to be reconstructed. Data suggest that the economy of the site was mainly based an animal breeding rather than on crop cultivation. In particular, the landscape was open and forest cover was low. Pollen spectra show a strong presence of pastoral indicatorr, cerealia and other synathropic indicators.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
