Universities for the promotion and dissemination of high quality research: The case of ECPs Journal

Higher education, more and more, is expanding its role and function for intervention in training, professionalization, but also to support the social and economic development of people and countries. In order to impact social and economic development, university and interuniversity projects have been developed to disseminate research, metodological reflections and spaces for sharing knowledge. With the strong intention to promote a space for scientific and cultural thinking on these issues strongly "educational", the dissemination of knowledge, the tools of research and an interdisciplinary collaboration, was born the e-journal “Educational, Cultural and Psychological Studies (ECPs Journal, http://www.ledonline.it/ECPS-Journal/). An international Journal designed and manufactured from the desire of the three state universities of Rome (Roma Tre, Sapienza, Tor Vergata) to develop a scientific and cultural dialogue on the major challenges of education and research. This paper presents the main lines of thought that the magazine has been able to develop in the first four years of life, to promote and enhance the accountability of scientific and cultural studies. The growing interest in accountability and ethical aspects of universities find in the project of the Journal contributions of research and findings regarding the interdisciplinary, with an eye to the global challenges of education. This paper aims to highlight some key points presented in the editorials of the different numbers of the journal as cooperation on research for a cultural change and active internationalization, a better quality of education and a larger investment on research on teaching on the prospect of a more equity system of education and social inclusion.
