The meaning of decoherence as a (practically) irreversible process in Quantum Mechanics is discussed. It is also introduced a simple two-particle model consisting of a heavy (the system) and a light (the environment) particle and it is explicitely computed the decoherence effect on the heavy particle due to the presence of the light one.
