The Med in Italy Team (Technology of Architecture and Economics Department, University of Roma Tre, Industrial Design - Department DATA, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Bolzano and Fraunhofer) got the podium at the Olympics of Architecture, Solar Decathlon Europe 2012. The innovations are: natural insulation with wood fibers to maintain a constant temperature inside; aluminum tubes filled with sand inside of the walls to simulate the behavior of a massive wall in traditional; ceiling with tubes through which passes hot or cold water, depending on the needs; ease of assembly which allows to "construct" the house in only five days, plus five for the functioning of the installations (so the house is suitable for emergencies or floods). Very interesting the design concept: fluid and dynamic furnishing, between tradition and innovation. The house (50 mq), show off natural and recyclable or reusable materials (1,400 €/sqm. Abstract
