An increased mortality from cardiovascular disease in patients with severe psoriasis has been documented. The relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and psoriasis has not been sufficiently clarified. Several methods of heart rate variability have been used to describe the complex regulatory system between heart rate and the autonomic nervous system The aim of our study has been to evaluate whether in young patients with moderate psoriasis the autonomic function, analyzed by means linear and nonlinear methods of hearth rate variability, is affected. Material and Methods: 26 young subjects, of both sexes affected by moderate Psoriasis have been enrolled and compared with a control group of 27 normal subjects sex and age matched. Our data suggest that in the moderate psoriasis there is a balanced reduction in the parasympathetic modulation associated with an increase sympathetic modulation of sinus node explored by means traditional statistical and non linear methods

Abstract
Our data suggest that in the moderate psoriasis there is a balanced reduction in the parasympathetic modulation associated with an increase sympathetic modulation of sinus node explored by means traditional statistical and non linear methodsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
