This article deals with the Icelandic hagiographic literature and vernacular historiography related to geographical discoveries and pilgrimages in the Middle Ages. In particular it examines the sagas of Sigurd Jorsalafari (the Crusader) and Hrafn Sveinbjarnarson and pinpoints an influence of the Codex Calixtinus in the Icelandic saga concerning the apostle James the Greater.
L'articolo è incentrato sulla letteratura agiografica e la storiografia volgare islandesi che trattano di scoperte geografiche e pellegrinaggi nel medioevo. In particolare sono prese in esame la saghe di Sigurd Jorsalafari (il Crociato) e Hrafn Sveinbjarnarson e si mette in evidenza l'influenza del Codex Calixtinus nella saga islandese sull'apostolo Giacomo il Maggiore.
