The objective of this paper is to analyse some drawings relating to the artistic techniques in the Diderot’s encyclopedia (first volume, 1751). The encyclopedia is still now considered the laic bible of the century of the lights. It has been selected some of the most significant pictures concerning to drawing, painting, mosaic, sculpture and endgraving, showing the rich interconnections between these different kinds of art and the drawing, from whom all of them was born.
