The paper presents the general outlines of an innovative platform conceived so as to increase the support usually given to cross-disciplinary building design by traditional and advanced design tools. Such a platform, applied over a BIM environment, is intended to enhance collaboration among all the actors involved in a design process by means of an adequate knowledge representation and management. The paper will be mainly focused on the latter, showing how it works by means of a design workflow simulation. Information is given on implementation tools.
