The paper presents a synthetic comparison of the method and research tools between Anthropology, specifically Notes & Queries, (Guido Frison) and Social Surveys (Booth, Rowntree, Bowley)(Roberta Cipollini) in the Victorian and Edwardian Ages (1870s-1910s). The aim is to describe similarity and difference in the fact-gathering and data analysis, in the context of positivist view of the scientific empirical knowledge.
