Abstract
The paper deals with the design of a mount featured to host a one meter class telescope. The main purpose of the mount is the monitoring and tracking of Low Earth Orbiting and re-entering the atmosphere, fast moving, objects. The Mount critical parts sre at the moment under development thanks to the collaboration between the Space Systems Laboratory of University of Rome "La Sapienza" and the University spin-off Roboptics srl. The paper points out the requirements of such a kind of system with particular regard to the motion control system that is a critical component of this project due to the high performance needed to track space objects. Moreover the structural static and dynamic analysis results are sketched, highlighting the mount rigidity and lightness.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
