The article presents the latest innovations introduced in the Italian legislation in the field of energy performance of buildings. The two new Regulations, approved by the Council of Ministers on February 15, 2013, complement the regulatory framework concerning the implementation of Directive 2002/91/EC (EPB) allowing to stop the infringement proceedings initiated in 2006 by European Union against Italy. In particular, the two regulations concern the accreditation of energy certifiers and the operations of management, maintenance and control of HVAC systems for buildings
