The paper resumes the situation of ongoing archaeometric studies about Hellenistic and Roman ceramics in Latium and Campania (Gulf of Naples), starting from some archaeological questions. Moreover, many research lines of the Project Immensa Aequora (www.immensaaequora.org) are shown; this project aims at improving the knowledge of the Roman economy and trade in the Western Mediterranean Sea (4th Cent. BC-1st Cent. AD), thanks to the use of modern methodologies. The methods applied are the ones of archaeology and archaeometry (in particular, laboratory researches to determine the origin of materials). For ceramics, in particular, the existing data on central-southern Italy and relating to production centers, distribution means, trade networks are being gathered for a new reading and interpretation of them.

Abstract
For ceramics, in particular, the existing data on central-southern Italy and relating to production centers, distribution means, trade networks are being gathered for a new reading and interpretation of them.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
