Saussure’s and Freud’s epistemological revolutions show many common points. The aim of this paper, leaving aside the quest for the tracks of their mutual knowledge, is to sketch, mainly in the light of Saussure’s Ecrits de linguistique generale (2002), their epistemological points of contact, and to enlighten the topics of sujet parlant, of the ties between meaning and memory and of the role of the unconscious.
