Abstract
The solution to the problem of défilement concerns all those studies needed to protect points within the perimeter of a forti- fication from enemies firing by securing the “inner space” from fire trajectories intersecting in the “outer space.” The solu- tions proposed for the approach to this military technique then can be considered as a link between the fortification itself and the surrounding area. This solutions to defilading problem are to be considered the first efforts in the direction of a detailed study concerning both the design characteristics of the building and large scale representation.
