In an industrial city, an ambient air cleanup plan had been prepared to control fugitive dust emissions affecting urban area and local community. This paper presents a study of airborne dust before and after cleanup. Before performing the plan, an ambient dust survey had been carried out to mark the affected areas, to single out major emission sources and to predict benefits of the actions planned. After cleanup, actual effects monitored for a 1-year period have been verified in good accordance with those expected.
