Arthrospira platensis (Spirulina) has been declared by WHO one among the greatest superfood being in itself a wealth of completeness and a treasure of desirable nutritional and health-providing properties. A recent review1 concludes that A. platensis shows potent immune stimulating effects, anti-viral activity against a variety of harmful viruses, cancer preventative and therapeutic activity against a number of tumors, beneficial activity towards a range of cardiovascular issues, including the improvement of blood lipid profiles, the control of hypertension, and preventative activity against atherosclerosis.
