In the paper a study on the capacity of Roma Ostiense station is presented. A comparison among three different methods is described: Potthoff (synthetic-combinatorial), assigned timetable (analytical) and a method of simulation based on Petri Nets. The required input data, the results given by the three methods and the different levels of detail that they can reproduce are explained.
