Italians abroad In this short paper we reflect on the theme of emigration from Italy and on the communities of italians who live permanently abroad. This phenomenon is not only relevant to the past but is still very present, and involves the survivors of the first generations of last century's great exodus and their children, and a new flow of emigrant. Especially migrant young people, who in a time of economic crisis, harship and difficult working conditions are leaving our country in increasing numbers. We measure the flow of emigration from Italy by statistics on Inscriptions and Cancellations from the population register; populations of Italians abroad are described on the basis of AIRE results (Registry of Italians Living Abroad).
