The reactions of both ground, 3P, and electronically excited, 1D, oxygen atoms with H 2S were studied using crossed molecular beam method. The reactions which lead to HSO+H for the O( 3P), and to HSO/HSO+H and SO_H 2 for the O( 1D) reactions were also studied. The dynamics of the channels which lead to HSO/HSO+H were elucidated for the reactions of both states. The enthalpy of formation of the HSO radical was analyzed and their conformity with the experimental data was evaluated.

Abstract

The reactions of both ground, 3P, and electronically excited, 1D, oxygen atoms with H 2S were studied using crossed molecular beam method. The reactions which lead to HSO+H for the O( 3P), and to HSO/HSO+H and SO_H 2 for the O( 1D) reactions were also studied. The dynamics of the channels which lead to HSO/HSO+H were elucidated for the reactions of both states. The enthalpy of formation of the HSO radical was analyzed and their conformity with the experimental data was evaluated.
