The paper presents a study of the installation of charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) in public LV distribution network: the hosting capacity of two existing LV networks in central Italy (one suburban, residential only, the other downtown, mixed residential/commercial) was assessed, considering both slow distributed and fast concentrated charging points. Detailed simulation results show that existing LV networks are unable to supply a reasonable number of fast chargers, whereas existing spare transformer and feeder capacity allows to accommodate a relevant amount of slow chargers, essentially for overnight duty. Other operational constraints such as feeder voltage profiles and total harmonic distortion are not limiting in the considered networks. © 2012 IEEE.

Abstract
© 2012 IEEE.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
