Abstract
A cute myocardial infarction (AMI) is associated with a multifactorial neuroendocrine activation.(1) Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is a neuropeptide widely distributed throughout the central and peripheral nervous system, stored in parasympathetic nerve endings,(2) and is known to exert positive inotropic and chronotropic effects, powerful vasodilation, and natriuretic action;(3) moreover, arterial coronary bypass grafts with greater long-term performance are more sensitive to the relaxant effects of VIP.(4)I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
