Internet in Education: Problems and Italian Perspectives

The objective of this report is to give some inputs to better unedrstand the meaning and the implications of distance learning and Web based distance learning. Some definitions are given and some socio-ethical issues are highligthed with the aim to introduce at Italian scenario. A brief survey on the knowledge of multimedia teaching methods in Italy is provided together a classification of teachers in relation to the their awarness and relationsip with multimedia tools. The last part of the paper is predicted to give an overview of the Consorzio Nettuno that is the most important distance learning experience in Italy.
