The paper explores the possible role of Design within the Food Industry, which could be considered as one of the most critical and determinant activities in the mature society: not only because it meets the primary needs of nutrition, but because from an economic point of view it represents one of the most complex and vast sectors. From the methodological point of view, the paper focus is about the opportunities for Design to improve its capability to produce innovation, while giving responses to specific needs in order to face real challenges, developing possible alternatives and imagining new productive connections for the future societies.

Abstract
The paper explores the possible role of Design within the Food Industry, which could be considered as one of the most critical and determinant activities in the mature society: not only because it meets the primary needs of nutrition, but because from an economic point of view it represents one of the most complex and vast sectors. From the methodological point of view, the paper focus is about the opportunities for Design to improve its capability to produce innovation, while giving responses to specific needs in order to face real challenges, developing possible alternatives and imagining new productive connections for the future societies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
