The prostatic specifia antigen (PSA) is at present the most sensitive tumoral marker for prostatic carcinoma. Various diseases, however may influence serum concentration,: since it is held in that prostatic epithelial cells are responsible for the production of this antigen and since prostatic secretion collect in the urethra , it seemed important to evaluate and compare urinary excretion of PSA and its serum value in patients affected by prostatic carcinoma. Results, however, do not lead to a definite conclusion, since, as yet, insufficient to establish normal value of urinary PSA.
