We have recently studied the photodissociation of 2-propyl isopropyl), (CH3)2CH, radical at 248 nm by using the photofragment translational spectroscopy technique.1 By absorbing a 248 nm photon the isopropyl radical is excited into the 3s Rydberg state which decays into the ground state by internal conversion forming internally hot radicals with 115 kcal mol1 of vibrational excitation.
