The paper presents a Media Education experience realized with teachers and students in one Italian upper secondary school. The objective is the teaching and learning of foreign languages with the use of innovative languages and tools, such as audiovisual technologies. The experience is the application of the action-research in Media education about the main principles at the basis of the competence model integrated in digital technologies during daily educational processes. The paper starts from the description of an educational experience to deepen the connection between competence levels in foreign languages and the innovative educational strategies with the use of audiovisual languages. This experience is an example of how teachers can use technological tools, that are highly widespread among the new generation, such as the camcorder. This is in order to facilitate the learning of disciplinary topics or meta-cognitive competences such as comprehension, critical text analysis, writing and production of new and creative cultural products in audiovisual languages from traditional books. Therefore, the digital competences of new generations will hybridize with disciplinary and cultural competences of the teacher creating a new way to teach and learn.

Abstract
Therefore, the digital competences of new generations will hybridize with disciplinary and cultural competences of the teacher creating a new way to teach and learn.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
