Objective: Profiling the essential features of a business model agent of development "rather than sustainable" in the territory in which it is rooted. Methodology: Starting from the state of the art, the paper proposes a definition of territory and ranks companies based on the manner in which they relate to the territory coming to conceptualize the model "arbor vitae". Based on a desk, it is, therefore, a first face for the company "arbor vitae" and discusses the related case study, developed on the basis of in-depth interviews and focus groups to the owners and some of the stakeholders' company selected. Results: Within the frame of a dialectic between deduction and induction, we identify the main features that characterize a firm "arbor vitae" for his territory. Limitations of the study: The paper presents results that will have to bulk up with in-depth theoretical and field investigations on samples of extended enterprises. Practical implications: The proposed frame helps to explain some of the features discriminating between business models more sustainable and less sustainable than the relationship with the land, and allows comparative analysis in space and time, setting up a possible tool to support policy makers to encourage behaviors enterprise "arbor vitae". Originality of work: At the theoretical level, the paper enriches the taxonomy of business models with respect to their deal with the territory, empirically, the case study "feed back" on the theory by providing new ideas to the debate about the relationship hologramatic firm-territory.
Obiettivo: Profilare i tratti essenziali di un modello d’impresa agente di uno sviluppo “più che sostenibile” del territorio in cui è radicata. Metodologia: Partendo dallo stato dell’arte, il lavoro propone una definizione di territorio e classifica le imprese in funzione del modo in cui si rapportano col territorio arrivando a concettualizzare il modello “arbor vitae”. Sulla base di un’indagine desk, si trova, quindi, un primo volto per l’impresa “arbor vitae” e si discute il relativo case study, sviluppato in base ad interviste in profondità e focus group ai proprietari e ad alcuni stakeholder dell’azienda selezionata. Risultati: All’interno di una cornice dialettica tra deduzione ed induzione, si individuano i tratti salienti che qualificano un’impresa “arbor vitae” per il suo territorio. Limiti della ricerca: Il contributo presenta risultati che dovranno irrobustirsi con approfondimenti teorici ed indagini field su estesi campioni di imprese. Implicazioni pratiche: Il frame proposto contribuisce ad esplicitare alcune caratteristiche discriminanti tra modelli di impresa meno sostenibili e modelli più sostenibili rispetto al rapporto col territorio; consente analisi comparate nello spazio e nel tempo; configura un possibile strumento a supporto dei policy maker per incentivare comportamenti da impresa “arbor vitae”. Originalità del lavoro: A livello teorico, il paper arricchisce la tassonomia dei modelli d’impresa rispetto al loro rapportarsi col territorio; empiricamente, il case study “retroagisce” sulla teoria fornendo nuovi spunti per il dibattito circa l’ologrammatico rapporto impresa-territorio.
