AIM The study aimed at evaluating Reliability, Construct and Concurrent Validity of the Italian version of the Arousability Predisposition Scale (APS, Coren, 1988). METHOD 348 participants (61% F) were divided into 3 main groups: People with insomnia (PI-24.5%); Good Sleepers (GS-17.9%); People with subthreshold insomnia (SC-57.6%) based on the Sleep Disorders Questionnaire (Violani et al., 2004). RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS Exploratory Factor Analysis evidenced 1 factor accounting for the 38.05% of the variance (communalities higher than 0.30). Chronbach’s Alpha index was high (0.86). Significant differences (p50.030) were evidenced among all groups (F(2,328)=17.21 p=0.001). Results thus suggest that this scale is reliable and valid since it reflects differences across groups defined on the bases of sleep quality.
